Tony Greenstein posted an item on his blog that Stephen Fry's "alternative" xmas message podcast had been produced by a zionist outfit that sought to recruit young people for the IDF (sic). Tony addressed an open letter to Fry exposing this zionist connection. Yet a letter then appeared in the Guardian headed "We're not celebrating Israel's existence" signed by a long list of prominent Jews disassociating themselves from Israel's actions and pledging not to offer any support until both arabs and jews had equal rights and could live side by side in peace and with guaranteed mutual security.
And one of the signatories was ..... Stephen Fry.
I have asked Tony about this but so far have not received a reply. Can anyone explain this apparent striking contradiction? Or am I being obtuse?
