Another "must watch" depiction of the endless entertainment value of good bloody war. This is on Apple TV but this is one Apple product I don't subscribe to. But I wouldn't watch anyway, I went to see Dunkirk, but I realised I'm not going to watch any more WW2 films.
At a time when WW3 is looming when 25,000 Palestinians have been blasted to bloody pieces 200,000 Ukrainians similarly, when we have a bellicose leadership in the west as stupid, as shaky, as delusional as any leadership in pre-WW1 Europe. then this material just cuts too close to home., and I wonder at the mentality of our culture that continues to glorify war. - because it does. Oh, they'll say it brings home the reality, no it doesn't - the reality is total annihilation of humane charity and reason. and incipient insanity in the beholder, if they survive We haven't even begun to understand the insane reality of Ukraine and distressed as we're supposed to be by Gaza, not so much really, we just put it in the back of our minds and debate the finer points of battery electrical vehicles, cost of living .or our next holiday in Greece. We're all Neros now.
