Re: A small and deceptive word
Ever since I was a lad I noticed that commentators weer always going on about growth and the political controversy about how the pie was divided, all the other wealth was ignored. Now I know that growth is over and the distribution of wealth is reminiscent of the 1870s. As wealth declines, its unequal distribution is getting more marked and the state more overtly fascist. Liarbour raised the drawbridge in the mid-70s and it's been downhill ever since. How the state will enforce inequality in an economy of declining wealth remains to be seen but I'm not optimistic for my class. That said, I'm a chronic optimist. I'm also the bloke who commented early on in his association with the MLMB about the "Arab spring", that you wait thirty years for a revolution and then three come along at once. Perhaps the antithesis is waiting round the corner?
