Apparently however it's a wee bit more complicated, as Smetana himself borrowed and adapted the air too

Vltava contains Smetana's most famous tune. It is an adaptation of the melody La Mantovana, attributed to the Italian Renaissance tenor Giuseppe Cenci, and first published in 1600, becoming widespread in Renaissance Europe, and which, in a borrowed Romanian form, was also the basis for the Israeli national anthem Hatikvah
I've listened to Hativka and to my way of thinking, the air is not immediately recognisable as anything like Smetana's.
