The first project was based in an industrial complex in Immingham where we had gas turbine power plant. In essence, we designed extraction of the gas turbine exhaust, compressed the CO2 and used the existing Viking pipeline network (originally used for oil extraction from the North Sea) to pump it back into the North Sea depleted oil reservoir. It was partly financed by the NetZero subsidies by the UK government. So, essentially, we had a working power plant without CO2 exhaust. For info, I am told it is/was a most polluted area in the UK. From that perspective, NetZero works. This without going into EROI equations i.e. it is a special case due to using an existing pipeline network and infrastructure sans compressor.
I contend that carbon credit system is a scam used by speculators to shuffle the finances around. Hence my initial assessment that NetZero and carbon credit system are incompatible.
