In Jan 2021, BTselem, the main main Jewish human rights organisation, experts in international law, declared Israel to be a racist apartheid state. Media Lens sought and found no mention of this report in any of the flagship BBC News at 6 or 10 television programmes. Nor on the BBC News website. The BBC deemed that little story unworthy of public attention. Media Lens challenged BBC foreign editor Andrew Roy, BBC world affairs editor JOHN SIMPSON, BBC chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet and BBC digital news editor Stuart Millar but the BBC deemed their letter unworthy of reply..
BBC rarely spins by telling lies. It spins by omitting or downplaying important truths. It spins by blurring distinctions, confusing issues and evading awkward questions.
The day South Africa presented evidence of Israel genocide to the ICJ, the BBC blanked it out their powerful presentation, but next day showed in full the Israeli counter argument that now ongoing massacres by the US-backed terrorist state are not genocides but a measured responses to the October 7 massacre - which was a genocide.
Unspun World could not totally ignore the ICJ judgment itself, but it could downplay its significance as a huge defeat for Israel. After all, the Court did not ask for a Ceasefire, and anyway the final verdict must be years away. Nothing to see here folks. 8 minutes in, Anna Holligan conjectures what the ICJ might be hoping and tells what the Israelis are saying.

John Simpson dared not consider whether the momentous ICJ finding will affect public opinion because he does not thinks the public will get to hear much of it. But, by dint not listening to the BBC, young voters in America did get to hear of it, and polls have reflected that
The ICJ found the prima facie evidence of genocide so plausible that it ordered an immediate stop to genocidal behaviour. It told the US-backed terrorist state to take measures within its power to prevent such behaviour, lest there be no Palestinians alive to hear that inevitable guilty verdict when John Simpson finally gets to yawn over it.
True, the Court did not explicitly order a Ceasefire - and Unspun World did not explicitly ask to how the six measures could be implemented without a Ceasefire. It is not a very intellectual show.
The British state broadcaster can never mention Hamas without also mentioning that it was branded a terrorist organisation by the British state. To his credit, Simpson has demurred. Inside his large body there is an honest man struggling to get out - we all pray he will manage to eat less and think more. Simpson was not denying that Hamas was a terrorist organisation, which it obviously is. He was denying this this practice was neutral news reporting, as it obviously isn’t. His small disobedience earned him a public caning from the Secretary of State for Defence.
