On 21st February, we will gather at the Royal Courts of Justice to bear witness
to the triple bill of injustice taking place in the courts. On the day, three
hearings coincide -
1) the final appeal of Julian Assange against extradition to the US, for the
'offence' of revealing the truth about the corporate state and its war crimes;
2) the Attorney General's attempt to remove the last line of defence from life
defenders, such as Palestine Action, Animal Rising and Just Stop Oil (ie belief
in consent to damage to property); and
3) the legal challenge to the Government's 'net zero strategy' brought by the
Good Law Project and Friends of the Earth.
The hearings highlight the crises of government and corporate accountability,
and the imbalance between the values placed on life vs monetary gains. Our
presence needs to show that our courts cannot be used to further serve
politicians' interests and corporate profit. British Justice belongs to the
people.
