Why cannot more plastics be recycled in the same way glass was? A specific plastic container from a specific manufacturer for a specific product could be melted back into the same container for the same product. It just requires more granular recycling and recovery. Reverse distribution of products - a complete anti-distribution chain which would be a great job creator. And yes, the extra cost would be built in to the product, which would reduce over-consumption, but with greater employment the market would simply broaden instead. The economy may go through a bottleneck but prosperity and wellbeing would not show much net decrease
