It's cynical and manipulative; morally and legally vacuous.
This decision is like all the other legal hurdles and decisions Assange has faced. . Muddied, opaque, self-contradictory. They are all designed, in my opinion, to allow Assange to continue to be incarcerated in Belmarsh, and to completely break him. so even if he does eventually win his "freedom", it will be at a huge cost to his mental and physical health, so he's unfit to do any more perceived harm to the US and UK states.
These judges are, like the others, the continuing agents of murderous state intent.
