It's sort of worrying that reading this your first reaction is "Yeh, sounds like something these lunatics would think was a good idea".

Well, as we know, Israel hasn't moved beyond the " rabid dog" notion of international affairs...essentially remaining in this primitive condition because it doesn't need to develop, as it of course has the world's richest most belligerent superpower behind it.

On a personal basis it is also run by an unpopular criminal who must keep the country in a state of permanent emergency ( not hard as they are the most propagandised shower of shits who ever walked the earth, as any vox pop will inform you )all just in case his fellows get bored, remember that fact and pop him in the clink on charges.

So...
Take a country being run by a criminal with a rabid population believing they are the "chosen people" / "master race"... then back them up with a president ( or any candidate even : they are all supporters) who requires the votes of an eschatological bunch of US "end of days" loonies who see Jews in Israel as the golden key to fit the lock to their own personal rapture & heavenly ascension, then the idea that they would let a nuclear bomb off in the high atmosphere in what is essentially no more than, as I said, a small pissing contest between nations is as eminently believable as the steps leading up to it are eminently insane, but there you are.

Is it true? Are we that far gone ? I still doubt it but that doesn't mean it hasn't occurred to them that doing something as unprecedented unpredictable and lunatic as that might be seen as a kind of righteous unrolling of the carpet for many reasons: we are not dealing with overtly rational people.
