I hope you are right; the scenario you describe hadn't occurred to me. I was thinking of dissent v production/TV/broadcasters and I'm sure this will have been top of the agenda on their meetings.

Standing silently, refusing to sing would be a protest they couldn't stop. There seems to be plenty of boycott talk on Twitter too so hopefully nobody watches (not that I ever would).
