The Polish poet Czeslaw Milosz wrote the book on the Stalinst thraldom in his "Captive Mind" (1953)

-It probably requires a re-write observing the same process at work in our elites & their desperate attempts to subjugate themselves to US hegemony.

We tend to underestimate how subservience and mimicry increase exponentialy with proximity to wealth & power. Life is full of arse-lickers and cap-doffers on the make willing to do harm to those around them for often pitiful selfish gain.
