I think those news "quizes" are one of the most insidious forms of propaganda that all of the msm broadsheets and the BBC use. Context-free, talking point reinforcement with the additional element of scoring/being rated which adds another layer of engagement/memory formation. All (usually) handily hyper-linked to go to the story on their site to make sure you don't escape the narrative. This ban is presumably an attempt to associate TikTok with the "evil North Korea" to further discredit it and reinforce the validity of the recent U.S. ban.
