Well, I don't particularly get why castration or having a bit of your arm or leg sliced off and rolled up to model a fake penis can be argued to be an "enhancement of the human condition" in any way or manner.

If these are the "sophisticated technologies" involved then I'm beginning to see that, far from modern technological solutions, the Medieval ones: like becoming a Monk or a Nun might actually be a "better idea"...this latter is, after all is said rather than done, actually reversable.
