The Helena Cobban segment of EI’s podcast last week that this interview refers to is remarkable and informative.

I heard this morning in regard to the current ceasefire proposal that Israel says that they won’t agree to anything that leaves Hamas ruling in Gaza. It is for the Palestinian people and the Palestinian people only to say who heads their government. Israel has no intention of allowing any kind of self determination for Palestinians. Israel envisions occupation and control of Gaza but there have been so many martyrs by now that pushing through with the fight for liberation is the only thing to do.
