Excellent article albeit a mix of depressing realism and guarded optimism. I liked "Versailles on Thames" The summary of where England is in the first few paragraphs is a superb description of what a shit state we're in.

Mark Blyth, referenced at the start, still has one of the best quotes ever re: the super wealthy: "the Hamptons are not a defensible position. The Hamptons are on a low-lying beach. Eventually the people will come for you" although it sounds better in his Scottish accent.
