Perhaps I'm just an old prude, but to me there's something truly incontinent about our Western civilisation's behaviour and thinking. In the meantime 500,000 Ukrainians blown to smithereens and a likely similar number of Russians and 14,000 plus children chide us from their graves - we watch from the sidelines mush as we now watch penises, which is the bigger titillation and which the more earnest to discuss?

Do civilisations ultimately reach a involutionary stage, and develop an inchoate wish to self destruct, like the tired old man seeking to just fade away by not caring for himself any longer?. Like Biden, failing, fading but determined not to allow reality to intrude until the bitter end.

And re Biden, interesting isn't how one of his spokesmen suggested in supporting his continued candidacy, that Biden is, unlike Trump, truthful, thereby implying in the whole of the Democratic party there is no other candidate that can be relied on also to be truthful (and also stay awake at the same time)?
