Someone on the board wondered why GG had lost in Rochdale after securing a substantial majority in the by-election only a matter of weeks ago. Galloway lost to Labout by 1440 votes, but the Reform candidate, Michael Howard, polled 6773, so it's a reasonable conjecture that if Reform hadn't been standing, Galloway might have retained the seat. The Tory vote sank without trace.
