But that's unavoidable. In the absence of any moral perspective, in the absence of any understanding of the cause of the Ukraine/Russian war, in the absence of any understanding of the losses of Ukraine, in the absence of any reality in understanding Russia's capabilities or its "escalatory dominance", in the absence of any idea as to how to end this conflict with the absurd "as long as it takes", in the absence of any willingness to actually communicate with Putin and Russia, then every utterance of the politicians will make little sense and they'll be clutching at rhetorical straws to try and keep rescuing themselves.
