Even this well written and emotionally charged piece about Israel's crimes in Gaza uses the word "war".

I think it's a misuse of the name. It's murderous assault, a barrage, a deadly siege, against an incarcerated populace unable to effectively fight any war themselves or escape the fire zone. Wars need at least two protagonists. There's only one here.

When the NAZIs dealt to the Jews, the gypsies, the disabled, no-one calls that a war. When the NAZIs reduced the Warsaw Ghetto to rubble, that wan't a war. What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is not a war either, just a mass homicidal criminality of a deranged Israeli population against another population of de-humanised humanity.
