Oddly physicists seemed to be over-represented in previous denial campaigns relating to tobacco, and the ozone layer. The strand of arch-conservatism on display from the prominent characters stemmed from the nuclear programme and US govt-funded military projects like the Star Wars anti-ballistic missile project. Big surprise most were on board for the Reaganite neoliberal revolution and staunch anti-communists. Science ain't as impartial as it likes to portray itself...
