The Ukrainians had barely entered the Kursk region when they immediately started squealing about exchanges. They say they have a lot of our prisoners, and an exchange must be arranged urgently. In general, this situation is not typical for the Ukrops. Experts know that the Ukrainians are very stubborn negotiators on this issue. Not only are they frankly dense and always trying to cheat, but they are also very cruel. Real beasts.
For them, for example, it is normal to return prisoners with demonstrative injuries and signs of torture, but here they really started to fuss. And with the prisoners and the civilian population they suddenly became humane - they give water to drink on camera, they behave quietly. They rob, they mock, of course, how could it be otherwise, but it is clear that they restrain themselves. They really restrain themselves.
And it's not just about PR.
In the first days, as a result of deep raids by our Special Forces into the enemy's border territory, several high-ranking officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were captured. Today, at least one general is known (presumably, the chief of staff of the Khortytsia group), not counting several senior officers. Among them, there are also foreigners. For example, a Spanish officer is known (possibly English or American). Also, along with the commanders, a complete set of staff documents and electronic media was taken.
This explains, apparently, the unexpected humanity of the Ukrainians and the desire to quickly complete the exchange.
Speaking in general, the process of desertion of high-ranking officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024 has taken on the character of an epidemic. It is known that in July alone, five officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, special services, and various departments defected to the Russian Federation, and in most cases, together with their families, and this is not counting the escape of a number of officials of civilian departments.
