Well yes and no. I put "media" because I had in mind people somewhat outside of the msm but the stenographers in the msm are in no danger precisely because they don't buck the norm.

I agree they probably wouldn't face the same repression if they did; it would "just" be firing, demotion, move to a less popular time slot, etc. rather than the Gestapo stomping around the place. Those sort of measures are for the "out persons".

Either way, if this was being done in Russia or Iran we would never hear the end of what a crime against everything that is decent it was.
