Would you have used the word “triumph” I wonder to describe an attack on Israel, blinding and murdering children and citizens through their electromic devices, perpetrated by Hamas and Hezbollah? Of course not. Your report would have been peppered with such words and phrases as “atrocity”, “terrorist attacks”, “war crimes”, “innocent child killers”, “despicable acts”, “animals” (as the Palestinians were described by an Israeli government minister), “bestial”, and a whole host of other words conveying your horror and repugnance at such a vile and murderous plan.

But we know of course that the Western media regards Israelis as real human beings worthy of pity while the lives of Palestinians and Lebanese people are not valued at all; they can perish in their tens of thousands, as is happening in Gaza right now, and the numbers are reported as if they were stock exchange figures, with little or no concern or feeling, let alone outrage.

The BBC’s and your personal bias in favour of Israel and against the Palestinians and Lebanese is as blatant and shocking as a blow to the face. It is truly despicable, and you are a disgrace to journalism.
