Reminds me of A.J.P.Taylor on Question Time in the good old days.
Some awful tory had said something very silly and Taylor was laughing at it and a very snarky Robin Day, thought he was clever and asked Taylor if he wanted to reply or just laugh, to which Taylor replied "I'll just laugh".
That's got to be very late 70s or very early 80's...student grant, essay done, a nice smoke and a good pint...ooop north in Huddersfield.
