(1:20:40) 'I expected some kind of harassment legal process. I was prepared to fight for that. I believe the value of these publications was such that is okay to have that fight, and that we would prevail because we had understood what was legally possible. My naivety was believing in the law. When push comes to shove laws are just pieces of paper and they can be reinterpreted for political expediency. They are the rules made by the ruling class more broadly, and if those rules don't suit what it wants to do it reinterprets them, or hopefully changes them, which is clearer.'
A pity that he had to speak to a room full of suits, asking tedious and repetitive questions, but good to see he's still sharp, albeit taking longer to find his words and getting tired before he might have done before his ordeal. Also good that he's taking an interest in what's happening to journalists in Gaza & Ukraine and the dystopian use of AI to target individuals in the case of Israel's appalling 'Gospel' program. Hope he takes care of himself and takes the time to recover properly.
