But in the same press release it says £24 million equals just 4 per cent of the total news budget.
Which means £6 million equals ONE PER CENT of the total news budget.
Which means the total BBC budget for news alone equals £600 million —
Or well over half a billion pounds a year on news services.
Personally I think this is astonishing and a scanal that should be more widely known and discussed. This is your money they’re spending, don’t forget (and let’s not even mention Hew Edwards and the £40,000 raise he got while under investigation for online activity involving a minor).
The BBC is rampantly out of control. It also provides one of the worst news services currently available — and at a cost of over half-a-billion. What a joke. And the joke’s on you and me.
