This is a VERY early sampling of articles I've found on the state of the media that the apartheid state's public sees. I feel horrible doing this as it almost feels like I'm seeking to defend the thing I despise most; it makes me feel sick.
Anyway, as I say, early doors but here are some articles on the topic:
https://www.972mag.com/israeli-media-pact-of-silence-gaza/
https://www.csmonitor.com/World/Middle-East/2023/1212/What-Israelis-see-and-don-t-see-about-the-war-in-Gaza
https://slate.com/business/2024/04/israel-news-war-palestine-gaza-netanyahu-al-jazeera.html
So from this admittedly small sample it seems there is a lot of censorship and shaping of the mainstream news product in the apartheid state and the public who only consume that will see very little of the real impact on the ground and people of Gaza/Lebanon.
There is also a massive domestic propaganda drive that instills a sense of righteousness in the news consumer about what their state is doing and we all know there are large segments of that population that don't need any help getting a sense of righteousness to put it mildly.
There are also new laws that are trying to shape the news space and clamp down on dissenting voices and channels (the ban on Al Jazeera for example and the actions against Channel 10[?]) almost eliminating dissenting voices and content from the mainstream.
So far it's just about plausible that they don't realise the real situation but what I haven't founds answers to so far are (at least) these two questions:
How are they not seeing what is going on via social media?
With so many family members/friends who serve in the IOF, how are they not hearing about what's going on?
I'm going to keep looking for information on this but I have to do it in bursts as it actually does make me feel like I'm working to defend something I despise and I have to have a break now and then.
I think there's an element of trying to "clean" the public of the stain of war crimes, genocide, ethnic cleansing, atrocity but given how large some of the demonstrations against the war have been (even if the main focus has sometimes been the hostages and nothing else) it seems impossible that NONE of the public know the real situation on the ground. I'm sure a lot of them choose to believe their zionist brainwashing and engage in industrial strength cognitive dissonance but the truth has to be getting through somewhere.
Here's a link to the oft-quoted Pew Research survey for reference:

...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.
