Well that just adds to the confusion for me. An arrow after the African exodus adding identifiably distinct Neanderthal material at 1.5-2.1% means the similarity between Homo Sapiens and Neanderthal was 97.9%-98.5% and not 99.7%.

The former figures relatively speaking point to a seriously large contribution.
