I know another people that are in a small country (that is always getting smaller) surrounded by enemies who don't have any sense of security but I guess they don't matter because they are not the chosen.

There does seem to be a definite sense that the only ones left in the apartheid state soon will be the raving zioloons. There have been lots of pieces about how a lot of people are leaving the country and the economy is tanking and so on. Whether these exiles will return when things calm down and they can pretend they are part of a national project instead of a settler colonial apartheid regime remains to be seen.
