I would release all prisoners, everywhere. I've no time for prisons. Most inmates are in there for crimes against Capital. i.e non violent crimes. The dangerous ones should be in hospital getting treatment.

AFAIK, Castro n Che Guevara released all the prisoners after the Cuban Revolution.

I would like to think the Bolsheviks did the same. Though looking at the speed with which they set about filling the prisons I fear the principle was rather lost on them.

Any revolution worth it's salt would release all those who, one way or another, disagreed with the previous regime.

A revolution is surely for everybody. Or do we keep prisoners locked up? Some revolution that would be. And mighty poor socialists that would make us.
