As a perusal of the old Testament and of course Netanyahu's Amalek quote shows, its not really new.
It's essentially very old Judaism centred around a Tutelary deity who's zealously on your tribes side against all other humans. When not killing others himself he's giving "his own" permission to murder.

Unfortunately it's not just the population of Israel going backwards as most other Jews support Israel's heinous activity.

As to Christians supporting this, it's an oxymoron. The sacrifice of Christ is fundamental as it slept away the notion of a God requiring appeasement through sacrifice, just as it made the deities concerns universal: belonging to all humans as opposed to being exclusively tribal.
