Nobody should be surprised by this. I still remember one of the first pieces of honest reporting I saw about the occupation, John Pilger's 2002 documentary, 'Palestine is still the issue', which opened with scenes of destruction and vandalism in Ramallah's Culture Ministry where IOF troops had turned the place upside down, smeared sh!t all over the walls, defaced children's paintings etc etc:





They were depraved scumbags then, and they're depraved scumbags now, only worse because they've got even bigger grievances against the Palestinians who had the nerve to fight back against their oppressors.
