"We have been pressing @theTimes to publish our letter so that their readers can realise that there are a wider range of Jewish opinions that they usually print. We are sending this letter today, voicing our concerns about the way in which Jewish pro-Palestinian views are ignored by the British establishment. This is particularly poignant for us today, on the morning when Ben Jamal, the Director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, is appearing in court. We were marching with Ben and others of our fellow Jews in the Jewish Bloc for Palestine on January 18th. Stephen Kapos, a Holocaust survivor, spoke at the rally and was warmly received. As we say in the letter we feel that it is dangerous for Jews like us to be ignored and that the unspoken assumption is that ‘real’ Jews support the Israeli State, while people like us are 'Jews in name only'. For these reasons we do hope you will publish the letter. The original letter is attached" https://x.com/JVoiceLabour/status/1902682508879130637 |
