Well not quite as far down that route but a lot of the services around it all have been privatised. We haven't quite reached the stage where we have judges banging more kids up to get paid by the prison company, thank Joe Pesci. Trump pardoned that mother fucker who was at the centre of that case in Texas at the start of his term and it was outrage for a day then into the memory hole. That fucker should have been dodging shanks and dicks in the showers for the rest of his life.

Just for fun here's another book, "Shadow State" by Alan White which details quite how much of our "public" services are actually private (Chapter 4, "Selling Off Lady Justice" is the one on prisons but the whole thing is an excellent read, like an updated version of Monbiot's "Captive State").

I've been waiting on "Copaganda" for ages so I'm looking forward to reading it; I've seen the author interviewed a lot and he was always really informative and seemed dead on to me.
