Smotrich was wrong though his mistake was understandable. Despite Western leaders condemning his remarks at the time, when Israel began its starvation siege on March 2nd, Western leaders fell silent. All their human rights talk proved hollow. Starmer, who is known as a human rights lawyer would be best called ‘an avoidance of human rights lawyer’.

Hunger pangs were supposed to encourage the Palestinians to force Hamas to change its attitude towards Israel or force them out of government.
