The old Pope showed a certain level of commitment to the Palestinian cause. I've been forced to listen to about half an hour of BBC dribble about the new one, in which Palestine was not mentioned at all. My guess is that serious pressure was brought to bear on the Cardinals to ensure that their new choice was someone for whom Zionism goes without saying. Meanwhile the BBC still won't report any important personage's support for Palestine.
