UK's ex-ambassador to Ukraine interviewed on BBC TV news this lunchtime came up with the following in a very short interview:

1. Russia's invasion of Ukraine was "unprovoked"when we all know the opposite to be true, by encouraging Ukraine to break a red line by joining NATO.

2. Russia broke the Minsk 2 agreement which again is the direct opposite of the truth.

3. Russia's economy is in "straitened" circumstances and applying more sanctions would finally cripple it. But I've heard it said repeatedly that the Russian economy has strengthened despite sanctions and has out-performed Europe's.

4. The Russian military is running short of munitions and equipment .... but don't their production of tanks and materiel in reserve vastly outnumber the US and Europe combined?

Needless to say, the presenter interviewing him allowed all these to be stated without any comment or qualification -- probably because he himself didn't know what the true facts are.
