To be cynical, this would also be a fairly easy thing to set-up as a smear operation. Fame-hungry "I'll do anything" idiot clinging on by his fingernails is an easy mark to throw a bit of money at and get them to do whatever. Ditto for the "builder and aspiring model".

Given the one lad speaks Russian and used a Russian interpreter in court, it's surprising they haven't tried to play that angle up...yet. They are definitely trying to go with "nothing to see here" on the story which of course always means there is lots to see which we probably won't.
