As with the phrase "some would say" the word "critics" needs to be defined here, but of course is not.
Here's the great John Pilger, being interviewed by the not-so-great Radio NZ host Jim Mora in 2008. At the 7:22 mark, he reacts to Mora saying "people would disagree" with the statement that the U.S. is not a democracy; at he 13:00 mark he reacts to Mora's wielding of "some would say"...
