There is a choice before Labour: cuts for the poor or taxes for the Rich. Most Labour MPs wd choose cuts for the poor. Most Labour party members would choose taxes for the rich. Voters would choose taxes for the rich
If seventy labour MPs could specify and defend a common program of taxing the rich, to cover the cost of retaining these benefits, it would endanger their political skins only to the extent that they will incur the wrath of the MSM and the enmity of present leadership. But since most of them will lose their seats if the present leadership continues on course, they might be tempted to show some courage.
