I had a little period of time playing the electric but never felt right for me.
Did use to have fun though, playing along to my Morricone record of the Eastwood spaghetti westerns themes!

The piece that made me know I had to learn finger picking was Dylan's "Don't think twice"...I was mesmerised when I first heard it, thought it was beautiful.
Took me a long time to get it, not having any lessons etc but finally cracked that alternating thumb thing.
I still remember exactly when it happened...was sitting on a gate in woodland where I had gone camping with my girlfriend and suddenly it just started to work.
Needless to say, the girlfriend was not amused with me at all that weekend as I spent the rest of it sitting on that gate and just having fun freestyling and singing!
Ah, those were the days!
