In November 2O24 an hour after the big Palestine Demo dispersed we came upon a sub meeting at Camden Town loudly applauding a speaker who then suddenly dispersed his audience by switching from a stout defence of Palestine to a rant against the Myth of man-made climate change. This was Jeremy Corbyn’s sibling, Piers. Despite his Hyde Park manner, Piers is well qualified to enter the debate against the ovewhelming expert consensus. He is a meteoroolgist with a first class degree in Physics. The rest of us must accept the overwhelming consensus, as I do, or remain silent. Back in 2005 when George Galloway created the first, then the only and still the best leftwing talk show, he remained silent on this issue, which for some of us is an urgent priorlity. I phoned in to ask him why. He fobbed my off with some rambling yarn about waiting to get a low carbon car before speaking out. Since then he has adopted Pers Corbyn as his scientific guru. I approached a member of The Workers Party to find out the Party Line on decarbonisation but was fobbed off with talk of future procedure The Worker’s Party is a one man, and its leader has sickening tolerance for flatterers so we may guess what its line will be,

Still and all, Galloway is capable of not only of passionate eloquence but, occasionally, of sustained lines of subtle reasoning; and he still the best show in town. He can help to lift the depression left by early morning exposure to Mainstream propaganda.
