Nah. If I send an engineering crew to deal with situation, I would identify the location and the type of service maintenance required. Traditionally, all major node points for utilities are in the middle of the roads in the UK (not so elsewhere btw) .. hence the node points are at the road junctions. Sometimes these (utilities) are combined. Most likely they would have manholes and thus manhole covers. Not necessarily.

Just a job .. a very small segment of an interesting 'career' etc. etc.
