I have another question that came to me in my sleep (a sign I've been consuming too much of this news). The feds say they "tracked him arriving on campus in a Dodge Challenger" but then he left on foot.

As I said earlier this seems to have been done to ditch his previously noted car, cut the camera surveillance and get to a switch, all of which seems to have worked but what about the car? They saw him arriving in it but there've been no photos, no "we've got the car, we're searching it" kind of announcements.

He doesn't seem to be a military/intelligence/spook pro but he did a lot of things that they would have done. He had been trained on weapons from a young age according to his family so he could have made the shot but the gun still seems to be the one area with the most discrepancies right now. His exfiltration of the area is something an actual sniper would do and I wonder where he learned that.

There was a story emerging last night about some notes someone had exchanged with him online about various aspects of his getaway, dumping the weapon "wrapped in a towel", etc. They were immediately trying to shut that down so I'll be interested to see what comes of that.

As you say, they've got the patsy and we'll see where the story goes from there.
