My middle school, "Our Lady's" was nicknamed "Colditz".
It was a crazy place, with corporal punishment dished out pretty much every day, from the slipper from the games teacher to the canes of the French and German teacher, affectionately known as Hitler.
Having your top button undone on your shirt would get you two of the best.
The guy used to have little rhymes about it...a real sadist.
Oh and the woodwork teacher, Mr Lane, used to have his canes on show and some laying in a little bath of some concoction that made them super supple and bendy...when he caned you the stick kinda coiled around your hand, they were so flexible!
