Alien is a stone cold classic; sometimes hard to believe it was made at the end of the seventies as it looks much more recent.

The recent "Alien Earth" tv show on the other hand was absolutely dreadful and I'd recommend not wasting time on it. The one episode that was like a mini-tribute to the first film was ok but the writing on the rest of it was atrocious.
