The whole country was waiting for him: British right-wing activist Tommy Robinson landed in Israel
British right-wing activist Tommy Robinson landed in Israel today (Wednesday), after being invited by the Minister of Diaspora and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, Amichai Shikley . In a video he posted on the X network, he said: "I am in Tel Aviv. I am proud to be here. It is a privilege to be invited here and although we may have a weak, spineless and cowardly government that recognizes the terrorist state of Palestine, the British people stand by the State of Israel."
Upon landing in Israel, he met in the passenger hall at Ben Gurion Airport with Israeli-Australian activist Avi Yemini from the Canadian channel Rebel News, and they conducted a short interview. Robinson said: "I'm proud to be here. I hope to show solidarity with real strong leadership."
He continued: "I wish our country had a leader like Netanyahu. We have weak cowards. Our government has recognized the terrorist state. And this government is not elected by mandate. They are elected with 20% of the public vote. So I don't want people in Israel to think that the other 80% of the people, not even the majority of Labour who support them, support recognizing a terrorist state. So I'm here to show solidarity with the Jewish people and with Israel. And hopefully to create good friendships. And to understand that Israel is surrounded by jihad. Britain will be surrounded by jihad."
He added: "The problems that Israel is facing here are the same problems that we will face. So the security problems that Israel and the Jews in the State of Israel have, we will all face in Europe. This is reaching our entire Europe, because we have enabled and empowered Islamic extremism. We have leaders who knelt before them and appeased them. And they still think they can appease them. It is clear that Israel now understands that they cannot appease them. I remember a time when Jews were dragged from Gaza. Jews were dragged from Gaza as part of a peace agreement that was somehow bringing peace."
Avi Yemini joked with him: "The truth is that the Mossad ran out of money so they sent me to come here. And we don't get $7,000 for a post." Robinson responded: "I've already said that if someone pays $7,000, I deserve millions," and then spoke seriously: "The truth is that I don't do it. I've never received a penny from Israel. I do it because I see Israel as an ally, as a partner, as the only place where we are surrounded right now. It is a beacon of freedom and democracy, of rights, of all the things we care about as a British people. And all the places around that are human rights abusers, terrorist states, jihadist states."
Yemini said: "Look, we're not getting paid by anyone to be here and cover this. To be honest, I think it's important for Rebel to be here because we know that the BBC, Sky News and the other fake news channels are going to run a certain narrative about this place."
They joked that Robinson was only able to get to Israel thanks to Shikley, and that he is now an "enemy of the state" in Britain: "Enemy of the state in Britain, friend of the state in Israel. But not just a friend of the state in Israel because I believe I am now a friend of the state in many countries. I don't know if you heard what happened in Panama – I went to Colombia and they refused to let me in and deported me. I landed in Panama and they deported me from there, and then the mayor of Panama saw it on the Internet and he sent a Cybertruck to come and pick me up and apologize. He sent me a beautiful message that said, I can't believe I'm meeting you like this. And this is in Panama."
Yemini told him: "I can tell you now, everyone who saw our camera here at the airport asked who we were waiting for. We answered Tommy Robinson. They say, really? The whole country knows who you are and they're excited that you're here. In fact, even people on the left at some of the demonstrations say, 'I love him.' I feel like you're going to get that welcome that Trump gets here, you're a true friend."
Robinson said: "Trump was here 48 hours ago. I wish I was here at that time. But yeah, I just think that so many people now, our government and the cowardly leadership, have hung the Jews out, especially in Britain."
