Ilan Pappe expresses it much better and more authoritatively than I can but I don't believe Israel can recover from this. Only if they join with others to form an international coalition of repression (which they're obviously working hard at) can they carry on in the region and the world as they have been. If they're successful at that, woe to all of us.
