the rightward political shift of the BBC over neoliberal decades could be plotted against a concomitant downward intellectual shift - if only these things could be quantified.
The dumbing-down is reflected in the increasing employmetn of bimbos of both sexes to front BBC news programs. Today 28th December the main midday TV news was presented by the male bimbo Christian Slater (who believes that “a French writer called Simone de Beauvoir” was a male person.)
The rightward shift is reflected in the BBCs view of Ukraine war. That is, a war which which Russia must soon lose - if only we give more help to Zelensky’s government, which has the advantage of being democracy which therefore does not have to force an unwilling population to fight. Kiev is already destroying Russia’s oil refining structure. Russia has already suffered huge and unsustainable losses of life. (Ukrainian losses are not worth a mention) Economic collapse and military defeat will topple Putin’s regime....
That view has been implied rather than stated because it seems too foolish to state. No serious academic could be found to endorse it.

According to Jenny Putin, by paying his solders good wages, is denudiing Russian factories of much needed Labour and angering the Russian poor. He is so short of weapons he has to beg for them in North Korea. It was Russian battlefield defeats in 1905 and 1917 that stirred up the massdes against the regimes. So…
